Hey there, Wondering whether I'm new to Tamil too? Yeah, I am. But I am determined to learn it. Now that I'm in Chennai, I have finally decided to embark on this journey called 'Tamil'. It's hard to regularly update a blog, but here I am, trying to do everything I can, to not quit. I'm not going to post anything on how to write and read Tamil. There are many websites out there for that purpose. I'm just going to post some sentences everyday. Remember them and try to use them in your daily conversation. Note on pronunciation of words: a bar on the top of a vowel implies that its a long vowel. Eg: ā as in f a rmer, b a r, etc. Tamil doesn't distinguish between the 'd' in 'dog' and 't' in 'tap'. Same with 'p and 'b', 'k' in kite and 'g' in gold, 'ch' in chair and 'j' in jail. 'th' in with and 'd' in 'wea th er'. This is my own way of writing ...
